Every energy vendor sells you a component. HNordic takes responsibility for the whole system -- from the first audit to the day it runs at its best, years later.
Start with an audit
Most energy projects in hotels follow the same pattern. A vendor proposes a technology. The hotel owner agrees and signs a contract. Equipment arrives, gets installed, and the vendor moves on. Six months later the system underperforms its projections, nobody is accountable for the shortfall, and the owner is left managing a piece of equipment they did not fully understand when they bought it.
HNordic is built around a different model. We take responsibility for the whole energy system -- not just the component we install, but the entire picture from demand reduction through generation, storage, and ongoing performance. That means the first conversation is not about what we sell. It is about what your property actually needs.
Step one
Every HNordic engagement begins with a paid energy audit. This is not a sales consultation. It is a structured, property-specific assessment that gives you a clear picture of where your energy goes, where it is being wasted, and what the right combination of improvements would look like in the right sequence.
The audit examines your current energy bills, consumption patterns, heating systems, lighting, hot water demand, and building fabric. It identifies where efficiency improvements come first -- because reducing demand before sizing a generation system means you need a smaller system, which costs less to install and earns a better return on the capital you deploy.
The audit output is a costed roadmap. It tells you what to do, in what order, and what it will save. It does not commit you to anything further.
Audit pricing:
When the project proceeds to installation and an ongoing maintenance contract, the audit fee is credited in full against the first year of the contract. HNordic earns from the ongoing partnership, not from the size of the equipment sold.
Step two
The audit output feeds directly into system design. HNordic designs the right combination of components for your specific property -- battery storage, EV charging infrastructure, efficient heating, LED lighting, AI energy management, and wind generation where the site supports it.
Critically, these components are not assembled from separate vendors. They are designed as an integrated system from the outset. All major components run on a shared DC mini-grid, which eliminates the energy losses that occur when independent systems convert between AC and DC. Conventional systems lose 15--25% of generated energy in conversion. The HNordic system loses none -- generation, storage, and consumption all operate on the same DC bus.
The design accounts for your occupancy calendar. For hotels without a wind turbine -- battery storage, EV charging, heating, and LED -- installation does not require planning consent for the generation components and is completed [TBC: confirm typical timeline with Rune] faster than a full turbine installation. The audit output includes a recommended installation schedule built around your low-occupancy window.
Step three
HNordic installations are completed by certified third-party installers. This is not a constraint -- it is a quality assurance mechanism. Certified installers carry the technical qualification for the work, the liability, and the local regulatory approvals. HNordic manages the process and remains the single point of accountability throughout.
The installation is sequenced to minimise disruption to hotel operations. Where an Alpine or seasonal property has a defined off-season, all installation work falls within that window. Urban hotels have more flexibility and work with HNordic to identify the right scheduling approach.
The full HNordic installation -- including a wind turbine, grid connection, and all compliance approvals -- follows a 16-week timeline from contract signing to full production. Installations without a wind turbine are completed significantly faster and do not require grid connection approval or planning consent for the turbine.
Step four
At commissioning, the AI energy management system is activated. It learns your property's consumption pattern, connects to day-ahead electricity price forecasts and weather data, and begins optimising battery charge, discharge, and grid export automatically.
You do not manage the system. The AI manages it. You see the results through a web dashboard -- generation, battery level, consumption, grid import and export -- and receive automatic alerts for any anomaly that requires attention.
In the first months of operation, HNordic monitors performance against the projections in the audit report and makes any adjustments needed to confirm the system is delivering its expected output.
Step five
The maintenance contract is not an afterthought. It is the primary relationship HNordic is committed to. Regular servicing, remote monitoring, performance reporting, and a defined response SLA for any fault keep the system running at its best throughout its operating life.
HNordic earns from a system that performs. That alignment of interest -- between our commercial model and your outcomes -- is the structure behind the audit fee credit, the long-term contract, and every decision made in system design.
The AI management system transmits performance data continuously. HNordic monitors for anomalies and alerts you before a fault becomes a problem.
Annual servicing visits by certified technicians. Documented for warranty compliance, financing terms, and any future buyer due diligence.
Quarterly reports against the audit projections. If performance diverges, HNordic identifies the cause and acts on it.
Defined SLA for fault response -- [TBC: confirm SLA terms with Rune]. One number to call. One party accountable.
An audit gives you a property-specific picture of what is possible and what it will cost -- before you commit to anything else.
