Energy Performance Certificates (EPC): Commercial property EPC requirements are under active review in the UK. Minimum energy efficiency standards for commercial buildings are expected to tighten, and properties below the threshold face risk in financing and transactions. An EPC rating improvement from a HNordic installation -- combining LED, efficient heating, battery storage, and generation where viable -- is an asset attribute that widens the buyer pool and improves lender terms.
Fossil fuel heating replacement: Oil and gas heating systems in commercial properties face increasing pressure through a combination of rising carbon costs and developing mandatory replacement timelines. The case for replacing now, at current grant rates and before compliance is enforced, is stronger than waiting. Grant support is currently available; it will not be when replacement is mandatory.
ESOS (Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme): Large UK hotel groups with 250 or more employees are subject to mandatory ESOS energy audits every four years.
